Gordon Ramsay has joked about being the “oldest dad”, after welcoming his sixth child with wife Tana, announcing the birth of their son Jesse James earlier this month (November 11).
“What an amazing birthday present, please welcome Jesse James Ramsay, 7lbs 10oz whopper!! One more bundle of love to the Ramsay brigade!! 3 boys, 3 girls…. Done,” he wrote on Instagram, alongside a trio of adorable snaps of the newborn.
Following the exciting addition to their family, Ramsay has detailed the special experience and joked about his future appearances at the school drop-off.
“Extraordinary,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “Really extraordinary, just blessed. I’m also sure I’ll be the oldest dad at the drop-off at school, so I’ll keep my cap and glasses on.”
Ramsay and wife Tana are already parents to 25-year-old Megan, 23-year-old twins Jack and Holly, 4-year-old Oscar and former Strictly contestant Tilly. The 22-year-old has followed in her father’s culinary footsteps by writing her own cookbook and presenting a CBBC cooking show.
Ahead of his new arrival, it was announced that Ramsay’s hit reality series, Kitchen Nightmares, would be returning to screens after an almost 10-year absence.
The US version of the show — which aired between 2007 and 2014 — saw the famous chef visit an array of failing restaurants, helping to turn the business around across seven hectic days.
It was confirmed that Fox will be bringing the fan-favourite series back, with the network already airing several of Ramsay’s shows including Next Level Chef, Hell’s Kitchen, Masterchef and Masterchef Junior.
Ramsay can also be seen travelling the world with This Morning’s Gino D’Acampo and First Dates’ Fred Sirieix in Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip. After three successful series, D’Acampo made the decision to leave the show earlier this year after scheduling conflicts, leaving the future of the series uncertain.
