In 2015, Steve made some shocking revelations in his memoir. He was Woods’ caddie from 1999 to 2011. He knew him well, and he finally came out with the truth.
The shocking truth about Tiger Woods
Steve Williams served as Tiger Woods’ caddie for 12 years. In his memoir, “Out of The Rough, ” he revealed he was treated poorly by his former boss during his time as a caddie with him. Williams was with Woods during his scandal in 2009 too, and then again, he wasn’t treated any differently.

He was fired over a phone call, and according to New Zealand’s Stuff magazine, there were many behind-the-scenes events that were unexpected. Steve talked about how Woods used to throw the clubs and expected Steve to pick them up. He wrote, “One thing that really pissed me off was how he would flippantly toss a club in the general direction of the bag, expecting me to go over and pick it up. I felt uneasy about bending down to pick up his discarded club — it was like I was his slave.”
He felt extremely uncomfortable bending down and picking up his clubs as if he was Woods’ slave.
Best player in history
Steve also wrote in his memoir that Woods’ only focus was to become the best player in history. He did not care about anything else. Steve also added about one of the Woods’ habits, which disgusted Steve to a great extent. It was Tiger Woods’ habit of spitting. He said that Woods used to spit in the hole every time he missed a putt, which was disgusting to him.
